Not every fishing knot works the same across all line types. Monofilament is forgiving and holds most knots well. Fluorocarbon is stiffer and requires careful cinching to prevent slippage. Braided line is slick and thin, demanding knots designed specifically for its properties — standard mono knots often slip with braid.
